Pimapen is a brand name, not the name of the product. Everyone says it, so we say it too, but what we are actually talking about is a PVC window. Worth knowing, because two neighbours who both say they had pimapen fitted may have completely different profiles at home.
Three things make the difference: how many chambers the profile has, whether steel reinforcement went inside it, and whether the glass is single or double. A five-chamber insulated window and a three-chamber one look almost identical from outside. You notice in winter.
In Bodrum most people ask for anthracite. Anthracite pimapen is foil-laminated and does not fade in the sun, that much is true. But a dark profile on a south façade gets genuinely hot, and the sash can stiffen a little around midday. We mention it not to talk you out of it, but so it is not a surprise later.
On houses right by the water we sometimes suggest aluminium instead for large sliding PVC doors. PVC is not affected by salt, that is a separate matter. The issue is weight: on sashes over three metres, aluminium sags less over the years.
We repair PVC windows as much as we fit new ones. Sagging sashes, a balcony door that will not close, whistling in the wind, a lock that no longer holds. Most of it ends with an adjustment and a new gasket, with no need to remove the window. Call us for pimapen repair service across Bodrum and Milas.
PVC window prices move with the dimensions, the profile and the glass. As a pimapen dealer we supply the standard systems and upper-segment ones such as Albert Genau. If you like, we will put the two side by side and show you the difference in figures. The survey is free and the quote comes in writing.
